Diabetic Kidney Disease: Bridging Clinical Guidelines and Real-World Care

Diabetic kidney disease is one of the commonest cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease, especially in the Asia-Pacific area. With the arrival of new medication classes that have been shown in randomized control trials to slow down the progression of chronic kidney disease, the international guidelines for diabetic kidney disease have been updated to reflect these changes. The lecture will review and discuss the burden of diabetic kidney disease in the region, the current guideline for management of diabetic kidney disease, the real-world changes in practices to manage diabetic kidney disease and the barriers and facilitators faced by healthcare providers to implement these changes.
