Professor Yang has participated in kidney transplant patient care as well as transplant immunologic research as a transplant physician and immunologist.

Main research interest includes roles of immunosuppressive cells and engineered cell therapy in transplantation, basic & translational research about ABO blood group-incompatible transplantation, and immune regulation in xenotransplantation.

He is also involved in kidney transplant cohort study with big data and multiomics as the Principal Investigator, Korean Organ Transplantation Registry (KOTRY).
