Dr. Szu-Chun Hung is a Professor of Nephrology at Tzu Chi University and Chief of the Division of Nephrology at Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital, Taiwan. He received his MD from Taipei Medical University in 1996 and completed his internship, internal medicine residency, and nephrology fellowship at Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Research Interests

Dr. Hung has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, Kidney International, Clinical Nutrition, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and NPJ Biofilms and Microbiomes. His major research interests include malnutrition, body composition, salt and water balance, and gut microbiota in CKD. His work has contributed significantly to understanding metabolic and inflammatory mechanisms driving CKD progression and its systemic complications.
