Research Interests

The research interests of Professor Tae-Kyung Hong focus on earthquake seismology and seismic hazard analysis, with particular emphasis on intraplate seismicity and the characteristics of earthquakes on the Korean Peninsula. His work aims to improve understanding of earthquake generation mechanisms, stress accumulation, and fault dynamics in stable continental regions. His research also includes seismic risk assessment in urban environments, ground motion analysis, and the evaluation of earthquake impacts on critical infrastructure. In addition, he is interested in disaster resilience and interdisciplinary approaches linking seismology with public societal issues.
